Welcome to PCD Career Connect — South Central Pennsylvania's Work-Based Learning Connector.

The Partnership for Career Development (PCD) connects regional employers with high school students across 24+ school districts and Career & Technical Centers in South Central PA. Through Career Connect, your organization can offer job shadows, internships, facility tours, career presentations, and other work-based learning experiences — and PCD handles the matchmaking.

How it works: Complete this form once. PCD reviews your submission, matches your opportunity to the right schools and students, and coordinates directly with school staff. You won't be fielding calls from students — we manage that process for you.

Who sees this: Only PCD staff review your submission. Your information is never shared publicly.

What happens next: You'll receive a confirmation shortly, and a PCD team member will follow up to introduce themselves and answer any questions.

A chance for students to visit your premises, learn about your operations, and gain insight into your industry — for small or large groups.
Semester-long placements for students to gain practical experience; can be paid or unpaid. Job coaches are available to assist.
Combines classroom learning with paid work (min. 15 hrs/week, pay-stub required). Employer allows site visits from the Co-op Coordinator and periodic student evaluations.
Students may or may not receive financial compensation for their work.
Organizational reps speak or present to students about their industry, career paths, and experiences.
Students observe professionals in the workplace to learn about daily tasks and responsibilities.
Simulated interviews giving students practice and feedback; usually hosted by the school district.
You directly sponsor a student in a registered or informal apprenticeship — distinct from just training staff internally.
Ongoing 1:1 mentorship for a student over time — different from a one-time job shadow or speaker visit.
You pose an actual business problem or project for students to work on — doesn't require students on-site.
Equipment, materials, or supplies donated to support CTE labs or classroom programs.
Join a program advisory committee to help shape what's being taught, so curriculum stays aligned with real industry needs.
Direct financial support for students — scholarships, award sponsorships, or similar.
Helping organize or host student volunteer or service-learning opportunities tied to your organization.

PCD Career Connect is free to participate in, and stays that way through the support of sponsors. A suggested yearly gift of $120 (or $10/month) helps sustain the platform — and a gift of $60 or more unlocks your logo and name to be publicly visible in the directory, instead of shown anonymously.
